Sacred Harp singing is a tradition of four-part harmony hymn singing, practised in the USA for over 150 years, and also sung in the UK. It is social music, emphasising community and participation, but above all fun. It has been variously described as ‘full-bodied, shout-it-out singing’, ‘stark and haunting’, ‘like a cross between Gregorian chanting and bluegrass’,and ‘fiercely beautiful’

This is the four Sacred Harp Singing Day to be held in Newcastle.
All welcome

Singing will be from the Sacred Harp (1991 edition)
