The annual Newcastle Sacred Harp singing was called to order by the chairman Judy Whiting leading 31b at 10.25am. Cath Tyler offered the morning prayer before leading a singing school with 56t and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star for leading practice until 11am. Judy Whiting called the class to order leading 68b, 171; Phil Tyler 76b, 77t; Ted Brown 33b, 30t; Helena Ross & Cath Tyler 64, 112; Anna Baldini 299, 107; Chris Brown 271t, 127. The Memorial Lesson was conducted by Benny Ross leading 278 in memory of the deceased: Liese & Alec Brown (Isle of Wight), Mary Kellaway (Glos), Mike Walker (Manchester), Tom Conroy (Manchester), Vivienne Davinson (Northumberland), Jim Kenyon (Bolton), Imogene Bradshaw (USA), Alice Cole (Sussex), Barbara Foster (Derby), Donnie McGraw (Alabama), Sylvia Levene (London).
